In the Nervión estuary, several shipyards were forced to merge into A.R.N. (Astilleros Reunidos del Nervión) which grouped together three such established shipyards as: Talleres Ruiz de Velasco, Marítima de Axpe and Astilleros del Cadagua. These highly renowned shipyards were forced to join forces in order to remain competitive in the field of shipbuilding.
The company went bankrupt due to the problems it faced. It was then decided to form an adjustment guild in order to develop professional knowledge and experience as an auxiliary company within the shipbuilding field.
Currently, the company is highly well considered within the sector.
It is holds management and quality certifications as per ISO 9001/2000 and Environment 14001 standards.
