The Basque Maritime Forum has formally joined the Waterborne Technology Platform, the European research platform for the maritime industry.

The BMF’s goal is to bolster the participation and representation of its members in European R&D&I collaborative projects; showcase the technological advances of the Basque maritime sector; and facilitate the flow of information and ongoing dialogue with all European waterborne stakeholders, such as classification societies, shipyards, shipowners, equipment manufacturers, infrastructure and service providers, universities, technology centres, and institutions. BMF has also signed up to Zero Emission Waterborne Transport, a public-private partnership managed by WB TP; its aim is to provide and demonstrate zero emission solutions for all the main types of vessels and services before 2030, which will lead to zero emission waterborne transport by 2050.
